Fable is a beautifully handcrafted book, made in a limited edition of 150 copies. They are numbered and signed by Monferier and with the help of Massimiliano Barachini, who translated it to English. Full of interesting details such as ripped or loose pages, this book is a photographic meditation duality. Thus, Monferier explores the complexity and the dichotomy of the human being. In his own words, he does not intrude in it but contemplates the space between humility and hybris. To conclude, for Elie Monferier, the photographer doesn't necessarily has to stop the course of what they are seeing. Quite on the contrary, they must experience it and maybe even confront it. This way, they can combine their experience and perception in an 'impossible tension'.
